That's how we had better be looking at the next few weeks. Yeah, we've had a couple of good nights, but now is no time to slack off.

Now is the time to completely ignore the polls and work as if we knew beyond any doubt, the Kerry/Edwards ticket is running six points behind in the polls.

My reasoning is simple. We are running six points behind when we show a race too close to call. Remember Florida. If we aren't trying to make up a six point deficit, these bastards will steal another one!

That has to be our battle cry for October...

Frankly, some of them are so hugely flawed, they're laughable.

Last I saw, in several polls, Kerry and Shrub were about even, with Kerry ahead in some measures.

It doesn't matter what the polls say. They will either try to discourage people or lull them in to overconfidence. Just go down to your local Demo headquarters and canvass, phonebank or work around the office. Everybody can bring important energy to the cause. Worrying about polls is just negative energy that helps Bush.

No slacking off. We register, they cheat. We GOTV, they suppress it. Presenting legal challenges and bitching about it only goes so far; we've got to assume they're going to try to pull as much shit as they can, and while we should call attention to and try to prevent it where possible, I suspect the only way to really beat em in the end is with sheer numbers.

I have no doubt they will try to steal another one; but hopefully if we're prepared and energized and aware we can beat it back.
