29. This is the situation ...

That thug murdered Iraqis in mass.
That thug used devastating weapons against innocent Iraqis.
That thug operated ghulags where prisoners were systematically tortured in order to extract information.
That thug rounded up THOUSANDS of people and subjected them to humiliation as a technique to strengthen his grip on power.
That thug ordered the rape of women and children in Iraqi prisons. That THUG stole all the oil money from his country and left them to poverty.

That THUG isn't Saddam Hussein. That THUG is George W Bush. And I'm sure they can detect little or no difference between Saddam's rule and Bush's rule. Save of course, that when Saddam was in charge cars weren't spontaneously detonating 10 times a day and it was safe to walk the street at night.

5. Powerful stuff. Very convincing ace reporting.
Shame that this classic old war horse 60 mins has been discredited in the eyes of the reactionary conserv apologists who bought into the crazy-headed spin.

6. "They were cheering when Saddam fell...they're not cheering anymore"
Are these the people (a cousin, a grandma, a blinded brother) that Mr Cheney would like to count as coalition casualties?

12. Bust him for lying about things going better in Iraq. When you see
the tears of a woman who lost her grandmother...her cousin, who was married just one year. Another woman's brother was blinded...These are the insurgents? When a man is arrested for having a gun in his car (a common Iraqi practice for protection) and ends up on the rolls of the dead....This, this is Bush's "better" Iraq???

14. Was Ed Bradley the correspondent? Sorry I evidently just missed the segment.
you're discussing.

The 60 Minutes Iraq story I'M waiting to see sent Ed Bradley to Jordan, on the trail of the mysterious Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. I want to see SOMEBODY follow up on a seven-month-old NBC report that the White House vetoed THREE separate Pentagon battle plans that would have obliterated Zarqawi's terror camp, in an area of Iraq the US controlled from the air. See http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/24/60minutes/main645596.shtml for news of Bradley's trip to Jordan and http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/4431601/ for the NBC report. Many voters would be shocked to learn that Dubya passed by THREE chances to annihilate Zarqawi's faction when they all were in one place, before they metastasized into full-blown cancer on a US invasion army.

18. More proof of "liberal media bias"
Since Osama disappeared off the radar, Zarqawi has replaced him as the #1 boogey man. I read this story weeks ago, that the bungle-monkey had had Zarqawi dead to rights three separate times, and each time made a conscious decision not to go after him, because they didn't want to detract American enthusaism from the hunt for Saddam. Who, we are reminded once again today by the CIA, was really no threat to anyone, not even his immediate neighbors, and certainly not the US.

But I think I read this on a UK internet site. Certainly not in the US mainstream media. Because as we all know, the "liberal media" in this country would naturally bury a story like this.

OK, time to try an appropriate smiley:
