1. I think he toned it down |
|
I watched part of hardball and he seemed to chill a bit on Cheney's victory.

he acknowledged that others saw it differently than him and then promoted his thinking on it all the way
and he is excited for the bush kerry debate saying bush is pulling a fast one and is really looking forward to the town hall style meeting. that this is a perfect format for bush and why he didnt do well before was because of the silence and no applause. bush needs the applauds.
so at least he is building expectation for bush. but almost whatever bush does, sounds like he is going to validate his prediction and say he did great

5. Disgusting! Was he trying to get into Cheney's pants, too! He thinks |
|
Chimp is going to hold his own in Town Hall Forum?
He may be correct on that Forum being good for Bush...but only if "THEY" stack it...which they will with fawning Repugs.
They need a break so this "Round 2.." might be it. Maybe "Whore Matthews" is trying to "break the Dem Euphoria?
But...there's rumors more is coming out on the Chimp Regime...so that could work against it.

4. This is what happened. |
|
You see, I sent him a very stern e-mail in which, among other things, I told him he made a fool of himself last night. It obviously is making him doubt himself. Lol.

6. He defaulted Cheney, saying it's 1/1 and Friday is the rubber match |
|
Matthews never called Cheney the outright winner like last night and his squirrel line regarding Edwards. But when it came down to looking forward to Friday he suddenly blurted out, "Ok, it's 1/1 with each side claiming a victory and Friday is the rubber match."
I was disappointed the Dem spokesman, who is usually pretty good, did not counter with, "We're claiming two victories." Earlier he tried to point out the polls of independents and undecideds had Edwards winning big, some by as much as 18 points, but Matthews literally cut him off like he couldn't stand that point being made after he slobbered over Cheney's greatness immediately post debate.
The opening of the show involved Cheney's claim he never said Iraq was involved in 9/11. Matthews said the GOP was mad at him for showing clips on Today this morning that contradict Cheney. Matthews played a much longer segment of the Meet The Press interview with Cheney, including a section with Cheney softening that claim after a followup question from Russert. Matthews wasn't really buying it, and concluded with something like, "You decide."
The final half hour is pure GOP propoganda with John Fund, cheered on by Matthews. Worthless. It ended with Matthews suggesting people who screen questioners before town hall debates are actually isolating liberals, not true undecideds, because they priorotize topics like health care and how the government could help them. The mommy party and daddy party stereotype ended the program.

7. How does Matthews know the people who choose the question |
|

8. Who the hell knows with Tweety? |
|
It was a lovefest ending, especially the final two minutes when Matthews matter of factly mentioned the '92 town hall as a lopsided audience in favor of Clinton and it could be the same this time.
He said the people who call themselves undecided while being screened are asked questions about their top concerns, and if they answer with issues like health care they are accepted as undecided. He implied a GOP leaning undecided would be too strong to admit he needed help from a government agency and therefore less likely to make the audience. John Fund just nodded his smug, punchable head in agreement, "Exactly. Exactly." I was glad they ran out of show at that point.
