When Bush & Cheney Say, "Quit Demeaning Our Allies", Kerry Can Hit Back: |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-06-04 09:42 PM by David Zephyr
John Kerry should retort:
Oh, you mean like belittling the French, who helped Washington defeat the British during our Revolution with your childish calling of French fries, "freedom fries", Mr. President?
or by calling the Germans, whose soldiers stand with us shoulder to shoulder now in Afghanistan "old Europe" as your Secretary of Defense did, Mr. President?
or by calling the entire United Nations an "irrelevant organization", as you, Mr. President did?
or by insinuating that the Spanish people are "cowards" because they elected a leader that you personally don't like, Mr. President?
Demeaning our allies, Mr. President? Is this really a subject that you want to discuss?

The bizarre thing is how BushCo says "how dare they demean our allies" and then go on to say "we don't need no stinkin' global test" and completely disregard the UN, international law, and the importance of participating with the world instead of just saying "we'll bomb who we want when we want -- we're defending ourselves!"
They ridicule Kerry for being concerned with these important, often delicate relationships -- and the moral responsibility that goes along with them, not to mention their strategic importance -- then they whine with noises about "how dare you belittle our allies!"
It's really bizarre.

2. I like it. I would do it. |
|
Kerry is much more politically astute than I. Wonder if he ever will.

3. Kerry did NOT denigrate our allies! He said the list was Thin! |
|
Which it is.
Not even our 2 closest neighbors, Canada and Mexico, would support that crazy, power-mad "President" and his manufactured war

4. Of Course, Kerry Did Not Demean Our Allies, But We Should Respond. |
|
I do not believe in letting an untrue charge go unchallenged.
To my knowledge, Cheney's remark is still unchallenged as of this evening. It's hanging out there in the public's mind.

5. Yup, it's always struck me how hypocritical it was for Bush to |
|
be saying shit like that. HE'S the one with the "insulting our allies" problem.

6. Great, I would love to see this in the debates! |
|
Too bad the foreign policy one is done with. I also really love reading points made by posters on DU and then hearing very similar things said by Kerry and Edwards.

These assholes supporters proudly brag how they have reduced our relations with allies.
