Barrage begins against Dean
By Sam Hemingway
Free Press Staff Writer

<snip>

"It's kitchen-sink time," said Luke Albee, administrative assistant to Sen. Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., and an observer of national politics. "What you're seeing come out now is the result of everything that's been dug up on (Dean) for months and months."

<snip>

Flanagan, who supports Dean's presidential bid, said he finds it curious that he has suddenly been deluged with calls from reporters about his audits, some of which are a decade old.

"They told me they'd been given a long list of issues," he said of his conversations with out-of-state reporters. "It's the opposition research from the other campaigns who accumulated all this background information on Howard Dean."

Flanagan said in several cases he was told the information he was being questioned about had been provided by the campaigns of either Rep. Richard Gephardt, D-Mo., or Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass.

It's kitchen sink time and Gephardt and Kerry are the plumbers. Get your plungers ready.

1. begins?
I'd say the barrage has been underway for quite some time now. But of course, Gephardt and Kerry supporters will:

a) deny any wrongdoing
b) insist that Dean did it first
c) change the subject
d) all the above

3. How do you know what
Gephardt and Kerry supporters will do? That sounds like projecting.

8. Hi, Karaoke.
I guess it's interesting to see the comments of Ed Flanagan (and Leahy). Flanagan as auditor had made a few negative reports. I'm sure he is really the one who is being barraged.
