Kerry has golden opportunity every time Bush accuses him
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 08:55 AM by ladybugg33
I hope at the debates that Kerry can pick up everyone of the Bush/Cheney charges against him and explain his position clearly to the public. Heretofore, the issues about Kerry's voting record and service have been formed and controlled by the B/C camapaign and nothing Kerry/Edwards would say in response would be heard by the B/C supporters who simply don't listen to K/E. It wasn't until the first debate that those people were forced to see and hear Kerry next to Bush and hear Kerry speak to the issues framed and focused in a open and "unbiased" forum. Bush's speech yesterday gives the Kerry campaign a huge opportunity for each one of the B/C charges against him to be singled out and obliterated in full view of the voting public. Kerry will have the opportunity to explain something about bills before Congress and how the Republicans (and Dems) frequently attach amendments that make it impossible to vote for the bill even though the original idea of the bill was good for America (more of the deceit of the Republicans in Congress). If Kerry can explain this in simple truthful ways about how both sides use this system to get things from Congress without public scruitny and that he will seek to work with Congress (and if he has a Dem Congress it will be easier) to thwart this system as much as possible so that the American people will have a more honest Congressional system working for them in Wasington, DC, I think this would go over extremely well.
"Honesty" "truthfulness" "integrity" "true compassion" "tolerance" "respect for others" these are the bywords of a party working FOR America and not AGAINST America. "Either you are with us or we need to convince you."
