Instead, Bush is out campaigning. Anyone else think this is odd?

3. How they do at the debates is much more important than one or two
campaign stops. Kerry, unlike Shrub, does his homework and likes to be prepared. This just shows what an idiot Bush is IMO.

16. That's so he can have "confidence" leading up to the debate
Nothing like a bunch of screaming sycophants wetting their granny panties and Depends to get your ego rebuilt . . .

He must try to make up lost ground in the polls--a good performance the debates won't be enough.

he can't practice.....he has no answers.he will wait until his writers prepare his responses and go on the cable networks to reply as per the last debate.

the wuss can't answer Kerry face to face..he does it on the sly and in front of his worshiping fans

10. If Bush is appearing before "Town Hall" audiances
in a way that is debate prep--except his will be adoring fans not real undecided voters--and the questions asked of him would be "Mr. President, you are just so wonderful--I've always wondered what is your favorite color?"

12. I wiuld love for that to happen
After his pisspoor performance last week I doubt any softball questions from Bushiots will impress anyone in the TV audience---while we can count on John Kerry being prepared and eloquent, come what may.

20. Yep this is the Achilles heel of the Bush campaign and one would think
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 10:29 AM by yellowcanine
Rove would see that if he is so smart. The reason Bush will struggle in any debate is because the questions are not softballs and the audience is not gushing over him. So his little sophomoric winks and nudges don't work. Meanwhile the tightly controlled events are great for the hardcore base but it does nothing to build it and even gives the base a false sense of security about the Bush chances - making it likely that some of them may not even show up to vote. How stupid is it to not let undecided voters into your events?

But I have to admit part of me wonders. However, if it occurs to us, it must've occurred to the Kerry people, too.

Once the earpiece and transmitter are in place, he just babbles whatever answer Rove feeds him - and he doesn't even do that convincingly.

22. Okay, Lanc, are you sitting down for this??
Went over to Fox site yesterday per instructions to vote in their poll. They had an article listed on their front page (did not read) that said "Was Bush TOO Prepared for the Last Debate"!!! Yep..sure..right...he was so prepared that he couldn't think of a damn thing to say to fill the time. So bring it on---this time DO NOT prepare him and watch him totally suck his thumb on national tv. When do they just admit he's just a lazy, inept, clown????

24. Margaret Carlson suggested he was bad in that debate because
he was "sad about the hurricanes." So no doubt they're keeping him away from all the sad news (which he's created) today and tomorrow.

23. I don't understand something...
So Shrub is out running around practicing his mean, rabid speech on his fellow storm troopers. If he goes into the debate with this sort of crazy over the top attitude, what will the so called "swing" voters make of it? Certainly, he cannot hope to win over these people by being a mean junk yard dog like he was on Wednesday.

I think he is going to roll the dice and go on attack like a wounded animal. It will either be scary or funny as hell to see. Maybe both.

27. He's trying to attack and be a stand-up comic at the same time
He reads his lines and does that Beavis/Butthead laugh at each of them. He thinks he's a laugh riot.

I think he'll hurl insults and ridicule with a smirk. I have no idea what swing voters will think of it, as I have no idea why anybody is even considering voting for this jerk in the first place.

29. He has received ...Talent from God!
Worries me that they have media whores continually stating polls higher for George. If the fix is in through the electonic voting machines, Ohio, SOS antics, polling sites unable to handle the enormous volume, CON plans to turn voters away, etc.

It's now time for everyone of us to become a "Homeland Security Observers." Much like they have told the truckers, airport traveler's and citizens in all areas of the Nation.....to become more aware of incidents that could affect terroristic incidents.

What could be more terroristic than to have our personal voting rights tampered with.

They need to keep the polls within the margin of error so that any ballot tampering will go unnoticed.

32. he's beed forced to do damage control
it's a sign of how badly they are doing right now, that instead of prepping they are having to do unprecedented (according to mike mccuury) negative attacks. Plus, the probably figure he's a bit more comfortable with the town hall format anyway.

34. There's nothing Bush can do
He has relied on the SCLM to build up his image. He can't change his (lack of) character and level of knowledge in year or a month let alone a week. They can only hope for softball questions for the War-President.

Plus studyin' is hard it's hard work.
