Bush is so obviously contemptuous of Kerry
I wonder if he'll even try to hide it in Friday's debate. That came through so strongly in the first debate with all his facial expressions. Plus, that speech yesterday made that nasty attitude even clearer.

Will we see a different Bush on Friday? Is that even possible?

1. Don't think he's that good an actor
He has a great deal of contempt for Kerry, because he believes he's chosen by GAWD, so anyone who DARES to oppose him is barely worth his notice. I think he really resents having to participate in debates.

16. Well, maybe
I think Bush may have convinced himself of it, actually.

I have no doubt Cheney doesn't believe the rw religious crap and is using it as a tool, but I'm not sure about Bush.

11. Couldn't agree more...
Remember this lovely little quote from the Monkey King:

I'm the commander -- see, I don't need to explain -- I do not need to explain why I say things. That's the interesting thing about being the president. Maybe somebody needs to explain to me why they say something, but I don't feel like I owe anybody an explanation.

2. Bush will try to tone it down but you are correct - You can't take cheap
shots at your opponent all week and then show respect at a debate. Besides, one of the questioners will probably nail him on it - just as the infamous guy with the pony tail did to Poppy and you could almost see the air go out of him. - I know the questions will be screened but I would be surprised if one like that weren't allowed.

6. I don't think that it's possible.
Bush views himself as superior to the rest of us - and why wouldn't he? He's gotten away with things that would have landed a real American in prison. Instead, he's gotten rich and famous and made President by God and the Supreme Court. Those who oppose Bush (in his mind) oppose God and all things "American." He views Kerry as just another traitor. And there is no crime greater than Treason Against the Bush.

This can easily be worked to our advantage, though. :)

10. Of course he is.
Kerry very nearly succeeded in putting Bush*s daddy in jail for the Iran-Contra scandal. He takes these things very personally.

12. Fear? Do you see fear in Bush's face, yet?
AFter learning about the cases Kerry investigated in his past, I would think that Bush is in fear of him.

This match-up between Kerry & Bush is like Theodore Roosevelt against the malevolent forces he forsaw coming from the private sector.

Theodore Roosevelt was said to be a man who would never put this country in an "undignified position." I don't think that Bush passes this universal test.

14. Bush Does Not Have the Self-Control Or Discipline Required
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 11:12 AM by Beetwasher
to control his subconscious impulses. Look for him to OVERCOMPENSATE. He will swagger and puff out his chest in an exaggerated fashions and do other things to try and compensate and will come off looking bizarre and idiotic because he's going to be VERY self-conscious of his body language tomorrow.

He also does not respond well to orders or criticism and yet he's getting LOT'S of it from his handlers. His natural inclination is to get pissy in response to this. I suspect that much of his scowls and sneers and derision that we saw at the last debate was not only directed at Kerry but at the person(s) giving him instructions and directions in his earpiece. There will be MORE not less of that this time because they will try to draw his attention to STOP smirking, stop scowling, stop slouching, say this EXACTLY etc. and that will make him ever MORE irritated.

He's in a tough spot for sure and he's not competent enough to handle it.

25. I expect new boils on his face + tons of makeup to cover it up - all
quite strikingly unsuccessfully.

Major "eruptions" of his herpes!

15. Bush may tackle Kerry to the ground after he is totally flustered
after losing every argument to Kerry. I love when fights breakout at hockey, soccer, baseball games.

17. Kerry should walk over and pluck out the * ear piece
He could also slap him on the back and then look puzzled when he hits the battery pack. Although * might hide it better this time. He could also reach in and try to pull out the bush flask of brandy in the coat pocket:)

Wouldn't happen
Bush is a coward. He may hire someone to tackle Kerry out in the parking lot but he would never do it himself.

21. We all are developing dementia...as we speak...after age 25
just the rate of brain deterioration is different. My mother
was sharp until she was 95 and now she is like totally
out of it, talks about the days when she was in her early 20's,
and does not recognize anyone.

20+ years in the senate and the votes Kerry has rendered.
Be prepared for it.

23. Bush will lose if he does that. Voters care about *'s record today.
Kerry will win the debate because he will discuss the flaws in Bush's record and what Kerry will do to improve conditions in the country.

24. One of the reasons why the GOP runs...
...people like Reagan, and both Bushes, and Schwartzenegger, and such, is that as non-politicians, or officials from the executive branch, they have far less of a record to be attacked on, and to have to defend.

This is an unavoidable consequence of nominating a legislator. I don't think it'll turn out to matter much, though.

Trying to stuff 20 years of the Congressional Record into Junta Boy's brain is a non-starter. If he tries to go that route, he'll make so many mistakes on dates, and bill titles, and the like, that he'll run right into the kind of fisking that Defib Dick ran into.

26. True - if "fu--you" Dick, who is supposed to HAVE a brain, can lie &
screw up facts so badly & get successfully called on it, I doubt no matter HOW much prep bunkerboy has, he will blow it all in the first question.

We have to remember, folks, that all they have is their lies. We KNOW what the record is - and it ain't pretty.

There is NOTHING they can brag about, and they will TRY to SMEAR Kerry like the SB Liars tried and failed. Kerry can actually think fast and think fast on his feet WITHOUT PREPARATION!

It is very difficult to cultivate a LIE, it is really quite easy to tell the truth - and bunkerboy will use up all his energy to keep his lies going - to his utter dismay - since these won't be pre-screeened questions, and he won't be in front of a selected audience.
