Kerry will win tomorrow. (Plan on it)
Edited on Thu Oct-07-04 11:43 AM by bigtree
The post debate 'polls' showed that John Kerry has the ability to take control of the media horse race, despite the daily barrage of skepticism and the outright cheerleading for Bush from media whores. It shows me that head to head, whenever John has an equal platform with Bush, he has the potential to knock down the media's stacked deck and force Bush's 'inevitability' chorus to admit the race is far from over. Most of the polls have the race 50-50 or better, favoring our candidate.

Tomorrow we will see Bush's deliberate lies unravel before John Kerry's's diligent presentation of our case against this administration. The next two presidential debates will allow John more opportunities to stand tall against Bush's withering defense of his failed presidency. Bush and Cheney are on the defense. It's an easier job for John Kerry to convince (as Bush is already known to be a failure), that he has the capacity to positively affect and change the direction of the war, the economy, and the future of the nation than Bush can as he defends his own sorry record of failures.

There is less opportunity for the known Bush, as he had with his partisan convention, or with his misleading ads, to put our camp on our heels again, short of a bin Laden capture. Even then, the public will have enough of a positive profile of John Kerry to measure his activism against years of Bush bungling of the pursuit of the 9-11 orchestrators, and Bush's diversion of our troop strength to Iraq.

With more exposure, John Kerry has the potential to build on his support, while the same exposure makes Bush more vulnerable to the unraveling of his web of distortions and cover-up of the mismanagement and scandal that has so far defined his administration, from Iraqi prison torture to Halliburton, from misleading the country into war to misleading the country on Medicare, prescription drugs, No Child Left Behind, industry influence in their destruction of environmental regulations, attempted dismantling of Social Security, attempted assault on the constitution to discriminate against gays and lesbians, assault on our freedoms and liberties by his toady Ashcroft, assault on a woman's right of choice of birth control and abortion options, the rape of our treasury to the benefit of his wealthy benefactors, while attempting to reduce combat pay for our soldiers, making them pay for their own meals in the hospital, the cutting of benefit overall for soldiers, the denial or delay of promised medical care for soldiers and veterans, coupled with his determination to commit our country to a continuous world war . . .

One more bounce by John Kerry, and we will be well on the way to sending these counterfeit losers in the White House back to whatever rock they crawled out from under.

1. remember the moderator runs the debate
in this format, by choosing which questions are asked and choosing followups. They have their most sympathetic moderator Friday, and he will be doing anything he can to make Kerry look bad and off message.

Kerry is the better man, if he wins this one he will be President. They know this, Charlie Gibson knows this, don't expect it to be easy (and give up any dreams of it being a fair fight - they will cheat).

5. It hasn't been fair so far
and we are still succeeding, gaining support, out-registering the opposition. I think the public is starting to see through the media hype and make up their own minds about this race. Remember how much impact Hardball and the others had on the Bush/Gore matchup? They all but ignored Tweety after the Vice debate and registered their honest approval. I've always said that it is the candidate's responsibility to overcome whatever obstacles that are placed before him and get the job done. John is more than up to the task. He has a wide range of abilities. Smirk is a one trick pony, used to running circles around his pen..

3. Doesn't anyone expect anything from Bush anymore? He's the great
debater, the straight talker, the straight shooter, he'll clarify all the mexxed missages, just give him a chance to be the come back little bully boy. I hope he's over sweet this time, Mr. bi-polor wacko should over-compensate for his angry display last debate. He'll try humor and making fun of himself, but I hope Kerry remembers that no one is really laughing these days and the WMD's joke was a huge flop for Bush. He is just not funny and his callous insensitive humor only shows out empathetic he really is. He's all play and complain about work George.

4. Wheee!
Let's jump on the negative threads that sap the resolve of the weak and sing the praises of the all powerful media! DOOm! Doom! doom!

You see them standing out, these frank insurgents,
With that defiant and arresting plume;
Scattered, they toss this flame like some wild signal,
Calling their comrades to a brilliant doom
