Notice that not only has John Edwards, the one cheney called on the carpet for absenteeism, presided over the senate as many times as cheney, Hillary beat him 3 times to two.

Ouch!

This may be nothing because I don't have a link available for this. I also don't have a clue about how many times recent vice presidents presided over the senate. I thought I would post this because it may be of some interest and who knows, we could be on to something.

On edit: Thanks to fellow DU poster nostamj, this is from a DU blog that was posted yesterday

1. Cheney too busy being president of the United States ...

... to be president of the Senate. In fact, in 2005, Lurch promises to deputize a less hard-working member of the administration to preside in the Senate: George W. Bush

2. Well, I guess it's hard to preside over the Senate
from an Undisclosed Location! Cheney is an idiot - but one who speaks better than Bush.

Too bad there is no link for this. It should be sent to all the major news media.

3. Kerry can use this information in the next two debates.
It's only then will many people be able to get this information since they only listen to FOX news, Rush Limbaugh, and RW talk radio.

....with Senate Republicans to discuss strategy.
She also pointed out that John Edwards and other Dems are not invited. (She was a guest on Hannity and Colmes)

Cheney considers this his "duty" as president over the senate.
