Poll question: Have you ever met either John Kerry or George W. Bush?
Curiosity compels me. A friend of mine met Bush back when he was part-owner of the Texas Rangers. She was convinced even then that he was an idiot.

4. I met Clinton when he came to dedicate his old high school.
This must have been back in '97. Highly surreal moment - you find yourself shaking hands with a man you've only ever seen on television before, a man whose decisions can affect your whole future.

I nearly met him back in '88 when he was Governor, but he was in a meeting and so I missed my chance.

3. Where to go in PA this weekend?
I just realized I'm off for Columbus day, and was thinking of driving from NYC to Eastern PA to work on the campaign. Anyone know of a group who's organizing day volunteers?

6. My wife...
Met W* back when he was Governor of Texas, he gave the commencement address when she graduated college. Funny story about that...when he shook her hand, she whispered into his ear, "say something nice about atheists in your next speech." Oddly enough, in his next speech he said something like, "...good will toward people of all faiths and to those of no faith at all."

8. Maybe someone should whisper into his ear,
"Admit that you lied about Iraq in your next speech."

Who knew he was that easy to influence?

7. I met the Chimp in my worst nightmare...
...which began somewhere in the year 2000.

But I can feel myself waking from it, I'll blink my eyes open November 2nd, and on January 20th be fully awake, feeling more refreshed than ever before!

9. presidential
Kerry gave a talk at my school back in the "Clinton years" - I think it was early 1999.

Afterwards I went up to talk to him about something he had said, and remember thinking even then, as I shook his hand, "hey, this guy could be president one day -- they say the tall guy usually wins!" :)

10. I shook Kerry's hand back in March
But it was at a big rally, and it would be a huge stretch to say I "met" him.

11. I got John Kerry's autograph in July
at a church service in Springfield, OH and shook John Edwards' hand there. So I guess you could say I've met them. Even embarrassed myself and told JE that I loved him! Oh well, he is handsome!

12. George Bush slides out of my anal passage every morning
and I get the distinct honor of flushing him down. Whoops, I think I'm going to go meet Bush again. Must be the tainted ham I ate for lunch.
