Edwards to Chimp/Cheney: Earth is not flat |
|
Enjoyed this quote from the New York Times:
Mr. Kerry's running mate, Senator John Edwards, also had something to say about the latest comments from the White House. "They are willing to say left is right and up is down," Mr. Edwards said in Bayonne, N.J., according to The A.P. "The vice president, Dick Cheney, and the president need to recognize that the Earth is actually round and that the Sun is rising in the east."

2. Ooh I like that - so much more poetic than "They haven't got a clue." |

The good thing here is that Bush and Cheney have gone over the "laugh test" line and have thus opened themselves up to ridicule. Letterman and Leno are going to have a field day and even if they back off on some of the more patently absurd assertions - as Bush appeared to do today - they can't really recant completely or the whole house of cards collapses. Rock, meet hard place. Ouch!
