New Terralert: This Time with a Catch
http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/10/07/national/main647998.shtml

Now they're claiming that the terr'ists are going to be attacking elementary schools. Talk about fear tactics. A blatant attempt to reign in the "security moms" by telling them that the mean old terr'ists have little Johnny and Molly marked. What a crock.

The twist, of course, is that this terralert was not issued by Homeland Security (Ridge) but by the Education Department. An attempt to brush off criticism of the Homeland Security Dept. "playing politics."

3. polling places
Interesting...a lot of elementary schools are used as polling places. Gives them an excuse to put some intimidating security around them on election day....

10. cops
In most states I believe that police must be a certain distance from the entrance of the polling place.

If you see an intimidating police presence on Nov 2nd contact your local Kerry office immediately.

8. Very true
How much do you want to bet that next week they'll have a terralert for senior centers, and the week after another terralert for city halls and municipal buildings?

By Nov. 2nd they'll have an excuse for an intimidating security presence at every polling place in the U.S.

In the meantime, millions of sheeple, fearful that OBL will take out their little babies, are planning to keep their kids home from school for the next week.

Sick. Just sick.

9. I have to vote in Citicorp Center in New York
the place is surrounded by cops on a daily basis and I imagine that it will be much, much worse on election day.

What really pisses me off is that 4 years ago, we never had to think about this type of thing.

4. good thing that there's no such creature as a "security mom"
She's a phony construct. Moms are more afraid of the draft than they are of rockets out of nowhere. I refuse to believe that people are as stupid as the Repugs seem to think.

6. This is such an obvious ploy, it is sickening.
I am going to hit the media about this administration using terror as a political weapon in the election.

7. Yes, this administration will do anything
to divert the attention of the American people from their "re-election" campaign. Fear, fear, and more fear. They're a sick, pathetic bunch.

11. The Russian school terrorism --- Wasn't there a story about rising polls..
for Bush at the time of the siege at the Russian school, and Bush's strategists attributing the rise to concerned "moms," or parents? They've exploited 9/11 -- why not the tragic deaths of children, parents and teachers?

Meanwhile chemical plants remain unguarded.

This is all part of the Republican plot to gut and prevent public education.

14. Didn't the Education Secretary
once call teachers "terrorists?"

Would he know a terriorist if he saw one?
