State University Bans Anti-Bush Flyer
I have been hanging up political flyers at my University for years. We have to get them approved and stamped before posting them. Today my flyer was denied. I asked if it was because it was negative and not positive and she said yes.

Question: Is a flyer speech and is denying a particular flyer based on its viewpoint legal for a state University?

1. A flyer is a tool of Anti-American jihadists
the state (particularly Missouri) has a responsibility to protect the security of the motherland.

If you don't believe that, they will _SHOW YOU_. <saracasim off here>

2. Contact your local ACLU chapter
They can tell you if your rights are being stymied, and help you if they are.

3. find out what the university's *written* guidelines are
Hell yes, a flyer is "speech". Have you seen any anti-Kerry flyers around campus? I'd complain hard about this if I were you.

6. No, it isn't
The threat of a lawsuit and bad publicity may be enough to get them to change their mind. Sounds like bureaucratic idiocy.

7. Who denied it? Go above them.
And above them if need be.

Tell them you've contacted the ACLU and they're expecting you to follow up with them.

If it's a state university, they work for YOU.
