OMG - Saw for the 1st time one of those awful Swift Boat Vets 4 Bush ads!
I just saw it on CNN...it was the one with the wives of POWs or veterans or something...I thought they were supposed to have stopped them! But I think I won't watch CNN anymore...it was just awful.

Subject: Pissed Off Old Coot

I was over in Vermont this morning taking some photos of some old farms in the fall colors.
While I was at this one site near Woodstock, VT, I ran into this 70
year old guy from Nebraska who was also taking photos. He spotted my
Kerry/Edwards bumper sticker and proceeded to launch his attack right
away.

"Hey there Fella, I see you are a photographer. I have the same Nikon you have!
I also noticed your bumper sticker. Well, look here, I'm a Republican and a conservative......."

I braced myself for what came next. And was pleasantly surprised to
find myself wrong.

"....and I'll never vote for that miserable son of a bitch Bush! He
does not represent the values I hold as a conservative!"

We talked for about 15 minutes. The war in Iraq, the economy, the
scaling back of subsidies for farmers who are in trouble with several
years of drought, etc. His favorite description of Bush was "sawed
off", as in "sawed off runt".

But the one thing that REALLY pissed this guy off? He said that his
daughter married a fundamentalist Christian guy, and as such, she
became a "born again" Christian fundamentalist herself. Their pastor
told them that if they did not contribute $1,000 to the Bush/Cheney
campaign and also vote for Bush/Cheney, that they would go to hell.
Literally.

Donate to Bush's campaign, and cast your vote for Bush, or Satan
himself will shove red hot irons up your ass for all eternity.

I'm not making this up - this guy was really pissed off!

6. you mean the one where "Kerry accused every single veteran of war crimes"
They even "quoted" him: "They cut off heads, ears..."
Of course the swift boat liar widows can't tell the truth either. What Kerry actually said was something like, "The soldiers told stories of when they cut off heads, ears..."
Have they no shame?

10. Kerry was talking about a meeting
he was at in Detroit with "150 or so Vietnam Veterans". "They said (")they had...". The Swifty Liars even capitalized the first letter in their quote to make it seem as though it was the beginning of the sentence. I hope this blows up in their faces.

11. Here's the quote from Kerry:
"I would like to talk, representing all those veterans, and say that several months ago in Detroit, we had an investigation at which over 150 honorably discharged and many very highly decorated veterans testified to war crimes committed in Southeast Asia, not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command....

They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."

These are the actual words that the Bushistas use to claim that Kerry dishonored all of the veterans, and accused them all of committing war crimes. They have no shame.
