2. Ralph Nader has power?
I thought most Dems stopped paying attention after 2000.

3. Other
The American Enterprise Institute.....virtually every group against populism but for Nader is funded by AEI...they can be directly traced to every harmful backslide in this nation..from media fairness, to educational issues, to the dilution of workers and union rights, to right wing judges.

6. I would add the Hudson Institute as one of the most evil right wing
think tanks around, completely infested with Neocons. Also the Heritage Foundation and the PNAC.

4. A Kerry Victory...

...would provide an opportunity for moderates -- hey! it's a relative term -- in the Republican Partyt o disown the hard right and work on appealing to the "mainstream".

The trouble is the Repugs are now hooked on the evangelical vote, so disassociating from the conservative (atavistic?) social values they espouse could hurt in the short term.

A Republican Party that embraces fiscal responsibilility and a libertarian attitude on social issues would be a formidable foe.

But, fortunately, that describes the Democratic Party right now!

5. Old Republicans.
Their party has been hijacked. I predict alot of them will come over to our side. The rest will go Libertarian.
