You think Kucinich is unelectable, folks? Have a look at this data! From a mere 52 phone calls no less!

Subject: Amazing results reported by Peace Train caller: Re: Call Iowa Now

The Peace Train riders have been canvassing and calling Iowans ever since we stepped off the train and we are so excited! Something is happening here. Take a look at this set of RANDOM calls placed to "Democrats who voted in the 2000 election" in the Des Moines area:

> The caller placed a total of 52 calls. Of those,

> 2 people said they are voting for Dean
> 5 people are voting for Kerry
> 4 for Gebhart
> 1 for Edwards
> 7 for "other candidates" not counting Dennis or the aboved mentioned.

> 21 said they leaning toward voting for Kucinich.

1. THIS is what
I have been hopeful of and what I have been carefully and cautiously anticipating. I have certainly had good luck in Kansas. This is encouraging and after the speech last night, now this, I think my day has just brightened up a lot. Thanks.

2. Girl, I am SO busy today!
I have a ton of e-mails, hundreds of phone calls to make, plus the volunteer board has had a few hundred postings, and I was just THERE at about 4am! Then I saw that, and it confirms everything I've been saying from the start-

"Come Iowa Kucinich is going to SHOCK THE NATION out of it's stupor!"

3. That is so good to hear!
BTW, thanks for your help, I was finally able to connect and I go to meet the Kansas chairperson on Tuesday. We are collecting signatures and getting ready for the caucus. Word is spreading and DK's Ag policies seem to be just the ticket for this state. Way to go, don't kill yourself but we have to keep it up. You are doing a wonderful thing, I hope I am soon just as busy and thanks for the great news from Iowa.

4. Enough already - read this -An Analysis on Kucinich Electability
This is from www.democrats.com

An Analysis on Kucinich Electability
01-Jan-04
Dennis Kucinich
An analysis of the 2000 election based on the generally-accepted 40/40/20 rule -- 40% Democrat, 40% Republican, 20% independent -- shows that there are only about 5 million so-called "centrist conservatives" who voted for Gore. In a further commentary, Dan Brown uses Voter News Service's exit polling data, to prove the earlier analysis... There are barely more "conservatives who voted for Gore" at risk than there are Nader voters - the real strength of the Democratic Party lies in its left-leaning populists. More importantly, it means that only Dennis Kucinich or another core, liberal, traditional Democrat can make the race with Bush a race solely based on retaining previous Gore voters.

6. Umm, I'm a little confused-
Are you bothered by my posting a positive report from Iowa to cast a little doubt on the polls we've been seeing?

I've read that analysis before, and I love it. This was just a report to encourage people who might be getting down or discouraged.

7. Realistically?
Des Moines is significantly more liberal than the rest of Iowa. One part of the city has a Democrat in the State House named Ed Fallon who is so liberal he makes Bernie Sanders look like Bill Clinton.

12. A feel-good nostrum
Kucitizens take massive doses--and I, for one, see nothing wrong with that! As long as we don't confuse this sort of thing with scientific polls or precinct-by-precinct realities, of course.
