Who went to the Venezuela event last night in L.A.?
It was a really incredible event, sponsored by KPFK, the IAC, Danny Glover and others, with Sharmini Peries, International Relations Advisor to Hugo Chavez. The funny part was they were apparently afraid that were a lot of attendees would be people who disagreed with Chavez and what they got was a lot of support. The attendees were patted down upon entering. Until last night, I had no idea that the L.A. Times was printing so much false information about Chavez. I never read the L.A. Times but I know how they treated Dennis.

If we can do it safely, it would be great if we could have an event with Chavez himself. But, with Bush wanting to kill him, imagine the kind of security he would need. I bet he would fill the the L.A. Coliseum with people lined up in an overflow area. Our food supply would be a lot safer and people wouldn't be living in the streets of the U.S. if we tried some of his reforms here.
