ATTN: Active Military in San Diego |
|
I am looking for a few active military people who would be willing to ride in uniform on the Coronado Democratic Club float in the 4th of July parade in Coronado. The float is NOT anti-war, anti-bush, or anti-government, it is NOT anti anything. The float will have positive quotes from past Dem and Rep presidents like:
"Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." John F. Kennedy, Democrat
"The government is US; we are the government, you and I." Theodore Roosevelt, Republican
Thank you.

1. I'm retired, but I have to tell you... |
|
You are NOT allowed to participate in what may be viewed as a partisan event in uniform.
The military is supposed to be nuetral in matters of politics.
Now, you might be able to get me to show up, with a navy ball cap, a navy t shirt, and a big 'veterans against Bush' sign... but not anyone active duty in uniform.

And so it goes

2. No Military Partisanship (Yes, seriously) |
|
I second this post against military partisanship.
Despite Yahoo! categorizing shrub's speech at the Air Force Academy under "Republican Party," our military is supposed to be non-partisan. This means in uniform.
What its individual members do out of uniform in T-shirts or whatever has constitutional protections.
It's our military, too!
