3. Im in Studio City. Didn't feel it as much. |
|
I saw the water in my glass moving back and forth and I figured we'd had a little roll.

4. No, that wasn't an earthquake -- |
|
it's just that Conyers handed his petition to the WH. What you felt was Karl Rove's tantrum about that.

5. I live in Burbank but work in Santa Monica |
|
I'm worried about my house -- will I find pictures askew and broken glasses? Don't think so based on the magnitude but just wondering how it felt out there ...

6. Unlikely - - I'm in Burbank, it was a mild rolling sensation |
|
Unless you've got a bunch of small glass or ceramic pieces that you haven't made earthquake safe, there's probably no damage at your home. Here's the shake map: http://earthquake.usgs.gov/shakemap/sc/shake/14155260/intensity.html

7. Nope, just some crystal in kitchen cabinets that are pretty sturdy |
|
although not technically quake-safe. (Don't think the cabinets even opened if it was a 4.9.)
BTW -- love your screen name! Wish Pres. Gore would seek his rightful "throne" in '08 (fingers still crossed he'll change his mind).

9. We had a tsunami warning, two blocks from the beach here in SF |
|
and our local people didn't get the alert out for AN HOUR because no one seemed to be checking the fax machine.
Had the event happened, everyone in the zone would have had 30 or less to evacuate.
Thank you, Al Gore, for the internets!
