San Diego poll watchers & monitors: Help a grand jury investigate Diebold! |
I'm told a grand jury investigation may be underway to look into yesterday's election and the Diebold equipment used. If anyone has any knowledge that might be useful to the grand jury, please send me a private message and I will forward it to the activist who requested the investigation. Word is that some grand jurors were observing the vote counting last night, so it sounds as though they may be taking the complaint seriously.

3. A federal grand jury in San Diego helped Duke Cunningham |
decide to announce he would not seek reelection for Congress, you'll recall. Along with the FBI investigation into his alleged corruption. So all these folks have been reading all about that in the headlines locally. Let's hope this grand jury feels inspired to pursue a Diebold investigation to the fullest extent of the law.

6. The problem with Cunningham is that the right outcome for Rethugs... |
is him "resigning" at the end of his term. They know he's a dead duck who can't run again. They want to have time to replace him. This was the optimal outcome for them. I wonder why they don't pursue getting him to resign now if he committed a criminal act, and let another person take his place in an open special election (which they probably don't want to do and lose to a Democrat then) or lose a Rethug vote until 2006 with an open seat if they do it after February.
That is why you don't hear much of an investigation now being in high gear for the Duke... We can only wish that they persistently go after him, but I'm not holding my breath any more!
