He and his producer Scott (Scooter) Tempesta will be on the road (they're driving!) Thursday to get there and will do a remote broadcast. All the regular features, including Rev. Shockley from Pilgrim's Church of Christ will still be on.

I'm just shocked that Clear Channel San Diego would actually pay for such a short lead trip - even if they might only be paying for a portion of it. Apparently, the show is doing this without much in the way of promotion gimmicks from sponsors - their only sponsor looks to be The Americans for Energy Independence and possibly some local donations.

If I were KSDO ("the Bismark") management, I might be getting a tetch worried - not only from the attention KLSD is getting from Clear Channel, but that Stacy's show is beating out their morning regular local right wing show.
Used to be that only Roger the Dodger could use his political and business connections as the self proclaimed "radio Mayor of San Diego" to get a major road trip out of any station management.

It's great that Stacy and Scoot are going, but I'll miss them during morning drive time this week unless they're able to call in.

.......
Perhaps they're going to let our own East County Bob Boudelang, Wiley P, (who might actually become some what of a regular) host a portion of the show. What with his raccoonts, fishpond sitting and all, he might be able to tell us what we need to do to get right with the Lord and the Republikants, who are the real Patrots, you know. (Read the "Things that make you go Hmmm" portion of the site. for a taste of Wiley)

Whew. They should hire me for advertising... :)

(Hey, listening to this show in the mornings really helps me get through work some days.)

2. crikey! is he still on the air down there?
i don't know that taylor wa ever so much of a conservative, especially in the neocon sense, but he was and may still be a fairly independent free thinking libertarian, pretty liberal socially and a true moderate fiscally. he didn't believe in no taxes but he wa certainly a prop 13 proponent when it was being floated. though after seein it's effects he may have changed his mind. i always admired him for that - he was never so wed to any ideology he couldn't be persuaded by a good argument.

3. Of course he was a prop 13 proponant...
His wife is in real estate...
However, living in East County he has apparently developed a very close understanding on how taxes affect infrastructure and local economy.
We used to live in Lakeside; just an couple hundred additional family units added every year for the three years we lived there had put an every-growing strain on traffic, water/sewage, and electricity in the area. Prices begin to rise. Not to mention, it begins to attract the big box stores which starts killing off many of the long time small family businesses.

From what I've heard - a lot of his views have changed - especially after the Shrub came into office - and he makes no excuses for any of his changes. Especially since he now has boys in High School - he's admitted he's been contemplating their future, and it's looking pretty grim even if they can afford to go to a good university.

I'm thinking that it was pretty safe to be somewhat libertarian during the Clinton years. I was myself, to some degree (small "l", not big "L") and I registered Independent because I didn't feel too threatened by the puke section of the Republican. (And most Dems in East County were - and still are, to some degree - basically Republican Lite)
IMO, if one is still a strong, steadfast "Libertarian" nowdays with this administration in power, one is a) either very cloistered; b)a well-off, selfish bastard; c) a poor fool who doesn't understand the difference between theory and reality, or d) an anarchist who is waiting on the descent into third world living.

4. yeah, libertarians are such a mixed bag -
i know a couple of mid-west biker types, free spirits, ex hippie and all that jazz that are pretty close to anarchists. i keep trying to get 'em to join the greens but they love their guns too much i guess. but almost every libertarian i know is adamantly opposed to this stinking war and the irresponsible fiscal policies of the bushole. i find that as a far left/ very progressive green i have a lot in common with *some* libertarians, not the least of which is that the duopoly of the demuplicans and the republocrats hasta go.

6. Yah... Some things I like about Libertarians...
... but I still think they're disillusioned in thinking that the public sector is fundamentally flawed and that more things should be privatized. I think the problems they cite in "too much government" can also happen when businesses get too big, etc. too, and in the latter case, there is less that we as citizens can do to correct the problems associated with big business than we can with government, which is supposed to be accountable to us.

On the other hand, I found Libertarian Gene Burns to be refreshing to listen to from KGO instead of other right wing crap radio we had here in San Diego before Air America was around and before I got on to Sirius. He at least had some decent shows against the war that had some good guests, etc. on board instead of the right winger Laura Ingraham who was the only other person on at that time around here.
