Increase Educational Opportunites for California's Kids

College tuition is rising fast and funding for college preparatory programs is under threat in both state and federal budgets. That means that young Californians face increasing challenges to prepare for and pay for college.

But by better-managing existing buildings and thousands of acres of state-owned property throughout California, the State could generate hundreds of millions of dollars to pay for college scholarships, academic outreach and college preparatory courses.

That's why California State Treasurer Phil Angelides and Assemblymember Dario Frommer have proposed legislation to create the California Hope Endowment, which would manage state-owned property and create a higher education fund with the earnings.

The bill is currently sitting on the Governor's desk and it's up to him to sign it into law. So sign the petition today and tell Schwarzenegger to expand college opportunities for California students.
