Bret Wagner's "Diary" in the District 24 race
Hey everyone!

I really like Brett Wagner and I REALLY LOATHE Elton Gallegly. I'd love to see him gone from our district forever. I was unfortunately redistricted into 24, a fairly safe Republican disctrict, a few years ago.

Anyway, Brett Wagner is publishing his "Candidate's Diary", which sounds like a good idea, but what I read so far is simply awful! Is anyone else reading this? It reads like trivial bickering between Jr. High School students so far with e-mail correspondence between him and other Democratic candidates.

Please, please, cut it out and publish a rebuttal to everything that Gallegly does instead. You'll get more name recognition and be seen as an effective alternative to the man who is helping destroy our country. His recent vote for the gutting of the Endangered Species Act should give you enough ammunition for many months. Add to that every other vote Gallegly makes and you have an effective column, not to mention you're educating people.

Anyway, I believe there are people on this list who work with Wagner. Let's make 2006 a REAL run, and dump Gallegly WHATEVER it takes. But this PUBLISHING of petty bickering is really, really gonna make us look bad and Gallegly is going to look like the professional here. Spend your time explaining how Gallegly is fighting against everything we hold dear.

Fight the good fight Brett and you'll have my support! (and don't forget us in Lompoc this time!!!)

1. I like Brett , but I don't like his chances
Good guy, but 24 needs a candidate who has different qualifications.

Don't ask me who. I don't know of any major heat out there.
I know how to beat Gallegly but they didn't listen last time either.

2. Check out the NewsPress today
I supported Brett last go around, but feel like he wasn't as up front about things as he should have been with his supporters. Sorry to say, I won't work for him again.

4. I supported Wagner last time around...
...but he kept touting poll numbers that showed him running neck-and-neck with Gallegly. About 24 hours before the polls opened, he sent out an email appealing for more contributions based, once again, on the incredible closeness of the race.

Gallegly won handily 63% to Wagner's 24%.

This and other incidents of playing loose with the facts have led me to question the integrity of that campaign. Wagner's certainly not Republican Evil (tm) and I like his platform, but I don't believe he's the right man for the job at this time.

3. The story is also in the Ventura County Star...
"Ventura County Democrats have asked a candidate for Congress to withdraw from a coming race because of concerns over financial irregularities and other issues in the 2004 election.

"At a news conference in Ventura Wednesday, five members of local Democratic groups said they have notified Brett Wagner to drop his bid for the 24th District in the November 2006 race.

"Wagner said he is more than willing to respond to the allegations but will not drop out of the race. "
