Recall of Arnold is underway
The petition has been submitted to the SOS and all we need is the signatures. If it fails, who cares it will tie up his resources and keep him from putting his agenda forward. Lets do this. Volunteer to collect signatures and help out this process at www.saveCALnow.com

1. I sent an email to the author of this earlier today to let him know...
that I was concerned that it was going to do more harm than good, even though I thanked him for his spirit and trying to do something about it. Told him that our efforts might be better spent tackling other issues that will get us more return for our efforts.

3. I agree.
One expensive recall and one "special election" because of the Gropenator are already too much money and effort wasted. Let's just thwart every nonprogressive measure he tries to pass and soundly defeat his bid for re-election.

5. I got an email back from Ken this morning...

That responded to my earlier concerns. Folks, he's not an emotional person that's just reacting emotionally without thought about the consequences of these efforts. He's thinking about all of the concerns I have, and I believe is trying to plot the paths through the potential problems here.

He's noted that having another special election besides the June primary for the recall is NOT an option. The law requires that we use an existing election such as the June primary to be used for this election. There isn't another option.

He also noted that he's had SUCH a big response to his earlier announcements of this plan to do this recall, that he feels it's beyond his control to "stop" such an emotional response to do this. To some extent he's right I think, but I do feel that there are many of us that need to help guide the outcome to something constructive. I told him I'd be on board and helping him, if I can see a real clean way of using the June primary for this recall. Still not clear to me yet, but I'm actually hoping that he does have a good strategy that I can jump on board with. I also advised him to contact the Angelides and Westley campaigns for their advice and feedback as well, to see if he can get them agreeing that such a process would be helpful to them too (even if they might not be able to publicly endorse this recall campaign).

We shall see. For now, I'm not ready to sign this petition, but I could be persuaded otherwise if Ken can really lay out a good strategy later. It's kind of like trying to plot the impeachment of George Bush. There are so many different ways that might turn, and whether to try and push to do it now before the 2006 elections or to wait until after 2006 with perhaps a Democratic Congress faces similar challenges of plotting strategies properly through the forest of potential problems.

The good news though is I think he's really thinking hard about how they can effectively do this campaign, and not just listening to his emotions in his planning.

4. If we put our energy into defeating ALL of his props in special election
we won't need to recall him, he will be unelectable.

I say let's spend our energy positivly. Get behind the next candidate for Gov. Fight the special election. The recall will just drain our resources, not his. We can win fairly (if all the votes are counted), we don't need a recall to take the Gov. office.

The only way he got into office anyhow was due to recall which was a big farce, and a rape of California.

We can do better. We will.

7. This is a complete waste of money.

Even if this was signed in record time it would still fall on next year's ballot which is ALREADY a year which the governor must face election. The people who are supporting this are fucktards. We will already have a chance to vote him out without them wasting millions of taxpayer money.

The main reason Arnold's poll numbers are falling is because the people think he's playing games with special elections. Let's not fall in the same trap for what will amount to a gain of a mire few months before yet another election will be held.

8. Waste his resources??? More like waste his opponents resources.
Part of the reason Arnie is not liked is that he is supporting stupid elections. So the idea is to get a recall on the ballot a mere few months before he is up for reelection?? What a total waste.

9. I think that would be a waste of our resources
Since people are sick of recalls, and he's up Nov. 2006 anyways. If the signatures aren't gathered by May, the recall could be combined with the Nov. 2006, and so it would terminate him only a month earlier.
