Gilchrist goes Green? Gotcha!

By MARTIN WISCKOL

In the taped interview, congressional candidate Jim Gilchrist clearly states that he voted for the Green Party's Peter Camejo in the 2003 recall election.

(snip)

Yes, this is the same Jim Gilchrist who led the Minuteman citizen border patrol project. The member of the American Independent Party, which is anti-abortion rights and small government and, well, just about the exact opposite of the Green Party.

(snip)

This time around, Gilchrist told us he voted for Republican Tom McClintock in the recall, and that the taped interview was by a Green Party activist who'd been bugging him. "I told him what he wanted to hear, just to tug his chain," Gilchrist said. "Since I declared (candidacy), I've been for Reaganomics."

If the idea of Gilchrist voting Green turns your head, how about Democratic congressional candidate Steve Young applauding Gilchrist's efforts on illegal immigration?

(snip)

"I don't agree with Gilchrist's solution," Young said. "But I'm glad he's raising the issue so it gets attention."

You can hear and see that clip as well at www.ocorganizer.com.
