ok....last week my heating bill shot up from 135 to 290!
and then on saturday a tree blew into powerlines on my street and we have had no power since dec 31st 8am.
man oh man oh man...the nerve! Sure goes to show you how prepared we are for any kind of an emergency. Freakin tree goes down and its chaos!
I can't even believe how awful it would be for the people going through any kind of REAL disaster!
Anyone else without power? --the only reason I can even post this is because I am back at work!

No power for almost 3 days. Lost a lot of food no doubt. I think the stuff in the freezer might be ok. I ate some of it yesterday and did not die.
I'll tell you, I've said the same thing myself. What if there was a REAL disaster?
I heard btw that the gropenfuhrer just declared most of the counties in northern California to be under a state of emergency.
This goes with everything else the gropenfuhrer does - a day late and many dollars short!!!! :grr: :grr: :grr:
P.S. Had to have my dog put down. He got very sick on the 28th, so it happened on the 29th. The dog had great timing. Maybe he knew. Luckily we were able to bury him in the backyard. It is kinda difficult digging a hole in the mud. :(
:kick:
and yeah, fuck PG&E. Assholes they indeed are!!! :grr:

4. It's called SMUD & it ain't "privatized"....... |
|
I'm out in the country south east of Sacramento.... Lived with PG&E up in Shasta County. When I relocated, one of my major needs was to avoid the "beast".

5. SMUD is a great example of how to run a utility |
|
Always reliable and the rates are fairly low. I wonder how long it will be before they try to privatize it??

There's no way the voters here would stand for it, we get much better service for lower pices than out neighbors out in the hinterlands with PG&E. SMUD's much more ecologicly minded and better about long-term planning, too.
