Is California ever going to get E85? |
|
it is a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline. It burns cleaner than unleaded gasoline.

1. It's here... although not enough of it. |
|
I live in San Diego and there's a station nearby that sells E85 and other alternative fuels. Here's an article about it: http://www.energybulletin.net/11702.html
How available E85 is in other parts of the state is something I just don't know.

I will eventually be moving from Minnesota to California and would like to have E85 as an alternative. We will likely live in Orange County.

3. This should be useful. |
|
It's the website of the National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition: http://www.e85fuel.com/database/locations.php?state=CACalifornia
So far, it lists only four E85 pump locations in the whole state, but that's bound to be changing soon.
Do you know yet when you'll be moving?

I hope that the move is a positive one and goes smoothly, whenever it occurs.

I'm from NJ and spent every cold, wet winter nearly crippled. Moving to San Diego was one of the best things I ever did, despite the high cost of living here!

8. Been there lots of times. |
|
The station is owned by the Ford dealership down the street who got tired of explaining to people there wasn't an E85 station nearby to fill their flexable fuel vehicles which they just paid a few hundred extra to get. It's almost 3 years old now.
