1st Suit in State to Attack 'Intelligent Design' Filed
...A group of parents in the small Tehachapi mountain community of Lebec on Tuesday filed the first lawsuit challenging the teaching of "intelligent design" in a California public school.

The suit targets what appears to be the latest wrinkle in the continuing national fight between supporters and opponents of teaching evolution in public schools — a course that says it examines the debate as an issue of "philosophy."

when we had our school board election, i asked each candidate their views on ID. one candidate answered that as a christian, he thought 'students should make up their own minds' so he did not get my vote. the teachers i spoke for had not known about his position on this ( he was endorsed by the teachers' assn. ) and he has been elected.
however, another fundie lost his post in the same election.

1. Here's the thing.....
I have no issue with ID or creationism being taught amongst other like minded subjects in a philosophy elective course.

It's when its taught in or in lieu or biology that I have major issues with.

This has nothing to do with any "philosophy elective course" and everything to do with breaking down the separations between church and state.

The duplicitous people promoting these sorts of courses want their own religion taught in public schools. They can't get in through the front door, so they sneak around to the back.

End of story, shut them down.
