Alameda County supervisors voted unanimously Tuesday to lobby for an all-mail election as a way of avoiding vote-counting problems with some electronic voting systems.
Following the vote, elections officials in at least 12 counties including San Mateo, Marin, Solano and Sonoma indicated they might want to join Alameda County's push for emergency legislation for the same reason.
But the effort could face significant opposition from lawmakers in Sacramento, who last year rejected six counties' efforts to get an all-mail election.
