Proximity of Oakland airport to Downtown Oakland...?

Would one be able to take public transportation from Oakland International, to Downtown Oakland, in reasonable time and little complication? Or would it be better to take a cab? Rent a car?

I may be in the area in the next month, on business just for a few hours, and a quick turn around. :( (wish I'd have time to meet up with some DU'ers...maybe another time, though) Thought I would ask those in the know...

1. Yes, Bart runs a feeder bus from the airport "AirBART"

Should run you $2.00 for the AirBart, and an additional $1.40 one way for the trip to 12th street station.

Within walking distance of one of my favorite lunch places, lil pricey but they have some of the best food!!
