January 31 Convergence, protest Bush SOTU speech. --Anyone going?

January 31 Convergences

Jan. 31, on The Night of President Bush’s State of the Union Address:
Bring the Noise! Drown Out Bush’s Lies!
In large cities and small towns all across the country, join in rallies one hour before Bush’s address as we make our determination to “Drive Out the Bush Regime” the political message of the day.

At 9:00 PM EST, just as Bush starts to speak, everywhere we will BRING THE NOISE. In a cacophony of sound, we will drown out his address with music: from drums to violins, from hip hop and classical; and with noise: banging pots and ringing church bells, sound car horns and lifting our voices.

LA: 5 PM - Gather at intersection of Hollywood and Highland;?6 PM - Bring the NOISE; march and 7 pm rally in front of CNN news station at Sunset and Cahuenga

Anyone going to this? Should we bring out the Bush Puppet?

4. Still waiting to hear how big this is
We'll only bring the Bush puppet if it's organized well. Otherwise we'll just bring lot's of noise and maybe sign like this ...

8. Have you tagged up with our usual suspects?
The L.A. Greens and so on?

You progressives in Los Angeles seem to have much stronger collaborative relationships than I can find up here, that's for sure.

World Can't Wait Los Angeles Update

We need your help to get ready for the State of The Union Address Protest on January 31st. We will bring out the noise and demand Bush step down. We have flyers available at the office and soon available for download. There are weekly meetings on Sundays at 1 PM at the Peace Center. Also, World Can't Wait is participating with the After Downing Street Coalition, Progressive Democrats of America and other organizations in public meetings Saturday, January 7, on the topic of ending the war!

State of the Union Protest Flyers Available at Office
Pick up World Can't Wait Jan. 31st State of the Union protest flyers at the office at 5507 Santa Monica Blvd., #207, L.A. just west of Western Ave. We ask at least $5 per 500 or $25 for a box of 2500 to cover costs but request your generous contribution beyond that. Help get these flyers out everywhere! These will be available later for download.

Los Angeles Meeting, Sunday, January 8, 1:00 PM
The Los Angeles WCW meeting is every Sunday, 1 pm at the Peace Center, 8124 W. 3rd Street, west of Cahuenga (between Fairfax & La Cienaga); enter/park in back alley - look for 2-story gray building. Come brainstorm about plans for major protest on the evening of Bush's State of the Union Address, Jan. 31st, 5 pm at Hollywood and Highland; and be ready to brainstorm about how to fundraise! We need your ideas and participation!

Hold a World Can’t Wait – Drive Out the Bush Regime House Party
Whether you are an experienced organizer or brand new, this is something that everyone can and should do. Bringing people together to talk over the Call for our movement and to donate money is a concrete way to:
break the isolation so many who hate the Bush regime still feel and instead get the understanding and backing to start setting new terms everywhere else we go
forge the communities and organization which will be needed to sustain this movement to drive the Bush regime out
raise significant amounts of money which is urgently needed to fund a movement that is serious about forcing out the most dangerous, dishonest, and powerful regime in this country’s history

7. Hey, that puppet looks really familiar to me.
Was it around for the L.A. counter inaugural march 2001?

Or, maybe that's just how I see him in my nightmares. :)
