Hi DU - Boxer's Alito press conference. I just got back....

The Honorable Senator is as always FANTASTIC!

The small room was full, maybe 50 people.

Boxer listed reasons why she is voting NO for Alito - based on his past rulings. (i.e. fear that the Exec. branch will have too much power, civil rights, workers rights will move backward... etc.)

She did say she would filibuster if it came down to it.



P.S. There was a heckler of the pro-lifer persuasion, Senator Boxer said he was the only person who doesn't believe women's health is an issue here (i.e. both reps and dems are aware of what's at stake in regard to women's privacy). She did not flinch at all, other than to say "Although you were so negative I will answer your question with a positive." He continued to make some-what-ever-stink, at which she responded "I will get back to your boss. What company are you with?"


Again, it was great. We are so fortunate to have Senator Boxer fighting for us!
