CA 11th district. Can Pombo be taken down?
It seems that conservation minded voters here in Washington have a stake in this race, since Pombo is single-handedly blocking legislation that would designate land for wilderness protection in Washigton. Who is Elaine Shaw? Does she have a chance of beating Pombo? Where can one send a contribution?

1. Is Elaine Shaw running?
She was running in 2002, but this year here is the information I have found:

Gerald (Jerry) M. McNerney
Democrat, Challenger
Website: http://www.jerrymcnerney.org
Email: info@jerrymcnerney.org
Phone: (925) 883-0843

Pombo won last election with 60% of the vote, so it might be a tough race for the Dems to win.

3. Thanks for the update
I googled around and Shaw's name was all I came up with. From what I've read about Pombo sounds like a natural wonder; a perfect asshole. He does seem to be entrenched in the 11th, but you never know. Anyway, thanks for your help.

2. Pombo is a fucking thug
Then again, most of the 11th is in San Joaquin County, where they grow those common-sense fascists like star thistles.

4. Many Bay Area activists are targetting this district
Bush carried the district with only something like 52 percent. Several environmental organizations and other county Dem organizations are sending volunteers. It's a long shot but we are trying. McNerney, the Dem challenger, is terrific!
