So, this is what 5am looks like!
It has been a while since I've gone fishing. I hadn't remembered what 5:00am looked like, until today.

Some kid decided to make our canyon road his personal Autobahn yesterday morning at 8:30am. He slammed into a telephone pole and knocked it down which in turn took about a 1/4 mile of lines down with it. As soon as it got dark last night, Edison had huge generators going for lighting and the power was finally about one half hour ago. We were without power for 20 hours.

I'm sure no one around here got much sleep. The generators were very noisy and the work crew had to yell to be able to hear each other. My husband and I didn't mind one bit. We appreciate the many hours they spent getting the damage repaired and we thank them very much.

Oh, and our candle-lit dinner wasn't too bad, either. We lit a fire for warmth and boiled water on the gas BBQ for coffee. We went to bed at about 9:00 and our thoughts are with the driver of the car, and our thanks to the work crew.

Before we fell asleep, we talked of going camping again.

1. OMG--are you guys alright?!

It sounds like you've been through quite an ordeal! It's so scary when those transformer poles go down. During one of the earthquakes years ago, I saw one explode just outside my window--very scary!

I hope things are back to normal by now... I know I'm late to this. I just visited this area today (CA)--been so obsessed with Alito stuff I failed to look places I ordinarily try to visit regularly.

2. Hello, Bliss
Yes, we got through it just fine. We found out yesterday that the driver was killed, just as we had thought. I can only imagine how fast he was going to knock one of those poles down.

Thanks for asking:hi:

PS-I just sent you a message. I wish my husband could have helped you. Sorry again.

3. Oh, gosh. I'm so sorry the driver was killed.
That's terrible.

Oh and on the p.s. No worries--thank you SO much for what you did do for me--I REALLY appreciated that you even asked!
