Potentially good news: Anti-gay ballot measure proponents are on the ropes!
Equality For All may end up kicking their asses after all! http://www.equalityforall.com/

The right wing will be paying signature gatherers for one more week, so Equality For All needs all the volunteers they can get. If you have ANY free time this week (especially next weekend), please sign up to volunteer! I've been volunteering with them for several weeks out here in OC, and they are great people to work with!

1. The paid signature gatherers had their compensation bumped up to $1.50 a sig on Sunday.
They must be concerned that they don't have enough signatures to make the ballot, because that's twice what they normally get.

I know they didn't get many more in Sacto yesterday. There weren't many paid signature gatherers out (because it was 4/20? ) and the two that were out with Limits on Marriage didn't get any signatures on that petition- I know for a fact because I was on the EFA volunteer crew at that store.

2. We haven't seen many petition gatherers out here either!
One volunteer told me that when she showed up one Sunday morning, the petitioner just got up and left immediately! Of course, now Dennis Hollingsworth is doing robocalls saying that the petitioners aren't getting as many signatures due to "violent gay militants"! My mom actually got one of those calls!

If this thing doesn't make the ballot, it will be a HUGE victory over the religious right. I just wish Planned Parenthood had been as aggressive about fighting the third "parental notification" anti-abortion initiative.

4. If they sent a paid reply envelope, you can ding them for a few cents more.
Bonus points if you fill it up with something funny.
