David Dreier's TravelGAYte
This is an e-mail floating around right
now from a yahoo group (LACDP?)....
for the background, go to www.rawstory.com
and scroll down for list of stories.

Travel-GAYte?! David Dreier and COS/Partner Brad Smith on a Taxpayer supporDaated Frequent Flyer binge!

Travel expose' shows exotic travels to 30 plus countries in the last few years. It's time for a VOTER REVOLT!!!

The basement of the House Canon Office Building is not as stately as the floors above where members of the House of Representatives have their offices. It's in the basement, though, that I have been spending some time reviewing travel records of Congressman David Dreier and his Chief of Staff, Brad Smith. Here's the deal. If you want to see the world, forget the Army...just land a job working as David Dreier's Chief of Staff.

In the past few years, here are some of the exciting and exotic countries that David and Brad have visited together:
Italy, Russia, Spain, Nepal, Greece, Senegal, Mali, Tunisia, Malta, Cyrus, Iceland, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Estonia, Georgia, New Zealand, Australia, Micronesia, Argentina,
Chile and the Dominican Republic. Not enough?
They also found time to visit Italy, Brazil, and Nicaragua twice in the last three years! How cozy?!!! And where paying for it!!!,

Be sure to check out the article on Blue Lemur, the blog of Raw Story for more information on what might become the next great hill scandal: TravelGAYte

TAKE ACTION!

There are two ways you can help.

1. Please write a note to the papers in our LA County area that are ignoring this story. Ask them why they have not covered the unusual amount of travel, especially since Dreier's Rules Committee is not internationally focused!

To e-mail them, click here.

2. Also, Support Cynthia Matthews for Congress. Contribute to her amazing grassroots campaign that has become THE political story in
here this November election cycle.

Where in politics will you find so many Republicans, Democrats, Independents totally untied behind the candidacy of one person...Cynthia Matthews for Congress.

2. Another kick and plug for Cynthia Matthews
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 11:46 AM by 69KV
Cynthia Matthews is an "out" lesbian, a strong pro-union advocate, and will make stopping outsourcing of jobs a priority.

She will be a great addition in Congress. This is a very winnable race. Unfortunately the national Dem Party hasn't targeted this race, but they should. There are a lot of people on all sides of the spectrum very unhappy with David Dreier.

Act Blue is a good place to donate to her campaign:

Here's an article from The Advocate:

on edit: I found more goodies on this race:

David Dreier introduces National I.D. legislation:

David Dreier big supporter of anti-gay legislation when it turns out he is gay himself:

3. Dreier and newspapers quiet on all fronts
We know why Dreier's shutting up but
why aren't newspapers printing anything
about the number of countries he and
his pal Brad have visited in the past
three years?

Media blackout.
