I have to ask something. Do any of you guys/gals ever listen to Pete Wilson, 2 to 4pm on KGO am? I turn him on every so often when nothing else is worth listening to. He iritates the shit out of me. Is it only me that feels that way? He never seem to have a position on anything. I just wonder why he's still on. Am I wrong?

Claims he's voting for Kerry, but spends an awful lot of time making excuses for the chimp.
I listen to KGO every day at work, and Pete Wilson never fails to get us yelling at the radio.

4. Pete Wilson is a hack.... |
|
besides putting his finger in the air to test public opinion he also uses a diabolical tactic of using neutral text/position that he then poisons and spins with voice inflection. Paul Harvey does the same damn thing. Both are a condescending asses.

but strikes me as RW. Whatever he says irritates me. Paul Harvey is worse, though IMHO.

He claims neutrality all the time, and one would have to agree what he says is neutral if you listened to his words verbatim. It's not what he says, it's how he says it; it's his inflection or tone of voice that contains the spin or bias. People fall for it and don't even know why. It's a very effective technique that works well for a non-thinking audience, and he and Paul Harvey have mastered it. Listen to them to see how they do it.
We think we can make your election night gathering even though it's a school night. Will has a half day on Wed. and is kinda excited about the whole election thing, though I'm the wreck worrying about it. PM me with any details I should know. Thanks.

7. He takes the position anyone can take with 1 minute's worth of reading |
|
I don't find him interesting. His opinions are too simplistic.

8. He claims to be centrist moderate |
|
but I think that's a cover for "spineless"
He is very irritating "Call me up. Let me know. I want to hear from you. How are you thinking on this thing? What are your thoughts? Give me a call..."
CALLER: I think that such and such should be so and so --
WILSON: But, but, but, but...BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH...Thank you for the call. I don't feel like I'm getting a lot of input from the audience today..."
and on and on

10. he irritates me less than KQED does |
|
He's a libertarian for the most part. I usually listen to him on Fridays, since that's the only day I drive, and he usually has interesting guests (plugging their current books, of course). At least KGO comes in better on my car radio than KQED or KALW: those always sound tinny to me, and seem to be missing the top registers.
