3. whether we like it or not
the gay marriage thing would DESTROY him

he'd never have a chance

that is, provided it's still a hot button topic 15-20 years down the road

which, unfortunately, it probably will be

No one in Congress has her courage.

6. Lorretta's chief assistant makes Strom Thurmond look like a liberal Dem.
A lot of information is being suppressed from Loretta by one of her assistants, such as a resolution by her own central committee calling for her to back the Department of Peace. Her assistant said that a resolution calling for an independent investigation of Wellstone's death would hurt Loretta because Raytheon was one of Loretta's contributors and she did not want to lose their campaign contributions. A lot of Loretta's positions wind up being on the wrong side, such as her support for the $87 billion. Loretta, hereself, used to be a Republican. If she cleans up her staff, she might improve.

9. Newsome is probably the most viable on this list
Though I'd LOVE to see Maxine Waters as President. She'd kick some ass.

10. Loretta Sanchez
is the one I'd choose. She's somewhat centrist and has risen pretty fast within the national party. I'd bet that she runs for Feinstein's seat when she retires.

14. that's a policy consideration
She is still the person with the brightest future in CA right now. A young female Latino who is incredibly telegenic. She's got a bright future.

16. She's reached her peak. Too many people are protesting her
When she speaks on behalf of other candidates, protestors show up to protest her - not the candidates for whom she's speaking. She's alieanated a lot of voters she would need to have on her side in a bid for higher office.

21. Newsome will probably have to get elected to higher office
before he would be taken seriously as a candidate for President. With that said, as long as he plays his cards right, he may someday be Governor or Senator. Feinstien is a former mayor and so was Pete Wilson.

22. She will be 79 years old when Kerry finishes his second term
That will make Bob Dole from '96 look like a spring chicken.
