I voted for John Kerry yesterday

and damn! it felt good.

The early voting place in my county is less than a mile from where I work, so after a tough and busy morning, I figured the best way to cheer myself up was to go and vote. And it made me feel better. The other great thing was that the place was hopping! Dozens of people came in to drop off their ballots or correct their registration issues. Everyone behind the counter was friendly and helpful, and aided everyone who wanted to register.

Yup, my state (Maryland) is going the touch-screen-with-no-paper-backup route, so yesterday I drove to the county election office amd voted absentee (which are optically scanned). I wasn't alone either!
