Any Hollywood area Election Night parties ? |
|
I just checked Moveon and DFA and don't seem to be able to find any election night viewing parties - end of tyranny celebrations.
There is one at the DNC in Northridge, but I would think that there must be something in the Hollywood / BH / SM area.
Any ideas ?

My daughter lives a block from Hollywood & Vine.
Hey, do you know if she can take a cheat sheet in with her when she votes? This is her first election, and there are a zillion propositions and judges.
I made her a voter guide, but some places won't let you use them.

4. Yes - I voted yesterday - funny story > |
|
at the Braille Institute on Vermont near Melrose. I brought my voter guide, and they even used it to check my address.
Funny stories :
I saw the Diebold machines, and asked if I could vote on a paper ballot. I was told that I could, but not there. I said I was reluctant to vote on a machine made by the company whose president said "I will deliver this election to George Bush".
ALL the workers there ( 5 or 6 ) agreed with me. They were clearly Dems. I said it loud enough so everybody voting heard me too. At least 1/2 the people there expressed agreement.
I was actually hoping to encounter some Repuke Poll Watchers ! I was hoping to infiltrate them and tape them on my digital voice recorder talking about harrassing voters. I was going to egg them on.
No such luck ! There wasn't a Repuke in sight !
