If so, I'm going to a marching band comp and I'm just wondering what it's like...is it cold now? Do I need to pack a lot of sweaters? Thanks!

Varies from rainy/foggy/drizzly to clear/warm/sunny. Mornings & evenings are chilly, lowest = appx. 45 degrees. Afternoons could be rainy or sunny, warmest maybe 80. LAYERS!!!

or a heavier jacket if you are just sitting around. It's not that it's so cold, but the air here is moist.
I'm just an hour west of there in Marin.

Today was kind of cold but not freezing and foggy, overcast. Yesterday the sun came out and I had to take off jacket while walking to warm.
