This is a great idea, mandating that companies with more than 50 employees offer health insurance, but it has potential weaknesses.
I mean, the companies could significantly restrict who is eligible and/or make the employee pay 100% of the premium (think COBRA rates, or hundreds of dollars per month). Most low wage workers (probably many of those working for companies that don't offer insurance) won't be able to afford it anyway.
I'm just too cynical, I guess. Let's see how it works.

all of Labor in California. Also, Nurses unions and many Physician groups, so it must be better than no insurance for the workers at "Wal-Mart."
