SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- His father was a Nazi soldier, but Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has long been interested in helping Jewish causes. That irony is central to his upcoming high-profile trip to the Middle East.Part of Schwarzenegger's trip is to help build a "museum of tolerance." And his actions have not been lost to some students at Sacramento's Shalom School.
"It's important for him to go because there needs to be a museum, and it's good for him to be at the groundbreaking," said Kate Wiggington, a fifth-grade student at Sacramento's Shalom School.
"We need to teach the next generation of people (about) what happened to the Jewish people so it won't happen again," said fifth-grade student Wyatt Brown.
Schwarzenegger's own motivation for the trip to Israel is believed to be deeply personal.
