Feinstein backs Condi Rice, 9/11 liar
Who exactly does Feinstein represent? When she does shit like this, along with not standing up against election fraud, she's drifting into Zell Miller territory.

The most likely reason is business connections who don't want her to make waves, which is why we have to purge corporate money from the democratic party, or purge our own votes and put them and our energy in a new party.

Calif. Senators Argue Over Rice Nomination

Fri Jan 14, 6:43 PM ET

By ERICA WERNER, Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON - The two high-profile Democrats who represent California in the Senate are squaring off over Condoleezza Rice (news - web sites), the president's nominee to be secretary of state.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (news, bio, voting record), the senior and more moderate of the two, supports Rice and plans to introduce her at her confirmation hearing Tuesday before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

That's where Sen. Barbara Boxer (news, bio, voting record), a member of the committee, will be waiting to grill Rice over the war in Iraq (news - web sites). Boxer maintains that Rice misled the public over the war.

While Feinstein has supported the war, Boxer has been a strong critic of it.

Rice, Bush's national security adviser, lists California as her residence after having served for six years as provost of Stanford University, Feinstein's alma mater. It's customary for nominees to ask home-state senators to introduce them at confirmation hearings.

Feinstein accepted Rice's invitation to introduce her to the committee, and praised her in a statement Friday as "the natural choice to be our country's next secretary of state."

Boxer gave a hint Friday on how she is expected to greet Rice at the Tuesday hearing.

"I personally believe that your loyalty to the mission you were given overwhelmed your respect for the truth," Boxer plans to tell Rice, according to prepared remarks she released Friday.

6. Me too!
She's lost my vote in the primary. Hope I don't have to vote for her in the general.

3. Always thought Feinstein was Democrat in name only...

I've never trusted her, and this confirms that impression. I think she's a traitor to her supporters.

4. I used her web form about an hour ago to --
-- tell her that I didnt appreciate her sponsoring Dr. Rice, who after all lied about the assault on Iraq.

A little strong talk directed at Senator Feinstein is in order, I believe.

5.  Wow, talk about opposite tacks
This pretty amazing -- two Senators from same State with such polar opposite views... Given the make-up of the Dems on the Foreign Affairs Committee (pretty hawkish, right?) will Boxer be the only one to grill Condi?

8. I already e-mailed her on Jan 5th and told her ...
that if she could not find the courage to protect the integrity of our votes, she would no longer be receiving mine! Glad I let her know what I think of her lack of principles. I am very disappointed in her behavior.

13. My letter to Feinstein
Edited on Sat Jan-15-05 03:29 PM by yurbud
Senator Feinstein,

Why are you supporting Condalezza Rice's nomination to be Secretary of State?

She has been a key player in demolishing our reputation abroad by lying for the Bush administration so they could invade Iraq and privatize and steal their oil and other assets, which was their only post invasion plan as Greg Palast got the author of the state department plan, Grover Norquist to admit ON FILM. He also said that elections were postponed so long because property rights were more important than elections. This is getting our soldiers and innocent Iraqis killed, and confirms all the worst suspicions in the Arab world about our intentions.

She also lied to the 9/11 Commission about having no warning about the attack and no idea that terrorists might use airplanes as weapons, when our military and intelligence services clearly had both. This alone represents gross incompetence or worse as national security advisor. It was also a slap in the face of the victims families who were in the room and had pressed for the formation of the commission.

Senator, the vast majority of democrats are very concerned about the destructive and deceitful foreign policy of the Bush administration, so I have to ask you, by supporting this nomination, who exactly are you representing?

Because it isn't me, and I voted for you, which is a mistake I won't make again.
