I was pretty sure he was going to vote yes. As we say in the Napa Valley, Thompson is the best republican the democrats have.

This man keeps such a low profile I sometimes wonder if he exists at all. I'm actually surprised he showed up to vote on such a controversial issue.

6. I live in Thompson's district

Unlike some here, I will not vote him up or down on the basis of one vote. Thompson has been a good opponent of the war in Iraq and is opposed to Social Security privatization.

However, I am disappointed with his vote yesterday and it is a mark against him.
