Does August 31 Mean Anything To You?
If you live in Florida, it should. It is the statewide primary. We will vote for our (Democratic) candidate for U.S. Senate. If there is more than one Democrat in your district running for U.S. Congress, State Senate or State House, August 31 is the day you decide.

It is also the day for the "non-partisan" races. Believe me, just because the candidate isn't labeled with an R or D, party matters. Remember that these offices which many ignore (County Commissioner, School Board, etc) make a lot of the decisions that affect our daily lives. They also provide future candidates for higher office who have experience and name recognition.

I am in Orange County, if you need information about Democratic candidates for August 31, please reply. Please include your precinct number and districts and I will try to get the information for you.

1. Who is running for Bob Graham's job?
I don't do the local media anymore because it is sooo rightwing, thus, I am not up to speed yet. I will be by election day, though.

2. 3 Dems are running
Former Education Secretary Betty Castor is the favorite. Congressman Peter Deutch and Miami Mayor Alex Penelas are also running.

3. Betty Castor it is. She's worth two (or more) of each of the others...
(Maybe 10 of Penelas)

Thanks.

I'm pulling for Castor, but I will support any of them in the general election.
