FEMA Problems after Double Hurricanes |
|
Well, my husband & I are just now getting back to normal after the double whammy that was Frances & Jeanne. My husband was lucky, he was paid for the time that he was out of work. I, unfortunately, was not paid while my company was without power. We were told that we could file for Unemployment Disaster Relief. I filed once I was able to get back to work and get the information. Today I was given the wonderful information that I make too much money and I am not eligible for the unemployment. This is total crap. I lost time due to the lovely hurricane. I lost money. And now, I make too much money for the state of Florida to help me. Sorry, I just wanted to rant and I thought maybe one of you could help me. I am just glad that we are alive and our house is OK! Sheila in Lake Worth

the State will compensate all of those poor millionaire farmers though. I'm sorry to hear about that, but just count your blessings that you're alive an that you didn't lose evrything to the hurricane. It could ALWAYS be worse.

2. Doesn't it just suck doing "hard work" in FL? |
|
We're not eligible for anything either. We have one salary and are making too much.

I am also trying to figure out how some people I work with were able to get the unemployment. We were told yesterday that our office said that we were able to work during the storm. Oh Really?? I guess I should have taken a boat to Palm Beach Gardens.
