Questions for Castor and Deutch supporters

I have the following question for Castor supporters:

Why does Betty Castor seem so supportive of the Patritot Act? From what I've read, she seems to support it wholeheartedly, and I haven't seen her question that little problem with civil rights.

For Deutch supporters:

Congressman Deutch's support for Tom DeLay on the pro-Israel matter is concerning. I have no problem with him being Jewish or supporting Israel, but will he do it blindly without looking at peace in the Middle East being the goal? Has he supported actions or made comments in that direction?

I've met both of them, and I will support either against the Republican, but I'd like to know a little more about these issues.

1. Florida has a large Jewish population

Whomever is elected will likely support Isreal in a manner that will displease those on the far left.

2. Castor on the Patriot Act

Castor has said she opposes repeal of the Patriot Act because it helps in cases like tha al Arian situation. I must say I don't favor repeal of the entire act either. Substantial parts of it are both useful and appropriate, whilst others go too far. I'd rather see a reform of the act than a repeal.
