On Tuesday We Will Know the % of Real RW Crazy-Assed Nutjobs in IL |
|
The percentage of people that actually vote for Alan Keyes.
These people have to nuts.
I know quite a few Republicans that will vote for Bush in this state, that will vote for their GOP congressman, but I don't know one Alan Keyes supporter.
A lot of these people won't vote for Obama, some will leave that part of the ballot blank, some are going for the LP guy, but its amazing the amount of people I know that are hard set in voting for Bush, that will also vote for Obama!
I live in Schaumburg and I have seen no Keyes signs in my entire area, the only Keyes sign I have seen was when I travelled down to Plainfield, and it was only one.
The only people left voting for Keyes are the absolutely insane element of our state, and it will be interesting to see how much of the electorate they actually make up.
I couldn't imagine more than 10-15%.

1. I have seen a few Keyes signs here in Ogle County. However, |
|
when I asked some of my repuke friends in town about them, some of them said they took the signs to be "nice," and would never consider voting for him.
Even our county clerk, a repuke, is embarrassed by him. I bet she just leaves that spot blank.

2. I have seen houses in my immediate area with only one sign: |
|
Keyes. And other houses with plenty of the whole GOP ticket including Keyes. Good ol' GOP DuPage County.

5. I saw four or five in my neighborhood here in Aurora |
|
Some along with Bush signs, some alone. Fortunately, there are a lot more Kerry & Obama signs than Bush & Keyes signs.
Not sure what issues are driving these people to Keyes, but there is a fundie church a couple of blocks away, so maybe they're all members.

6. Don't forget the party faithfuls! |
|
Either side has them--the folks that would vote for Satan himself if he had the right letter next to his name on the ballot. I'll grant you, Keyes is seriously in trouble with many of the Republicans, but there are gonna be a few who hold their nose and vote Keyes.
Dems saw that same thing a few years ago with Poshard. (NOT that Poshard is anywhere near Keyes' level!) A lot of Dem women skipped that race rather than vote for an anti choice Gov. If you look at vote totals by what race it was, it jumps out at you that Poshard carried much lower vote totals than the rest of that ticket. I expect Keyes will be that same way.
